Today, we are working with parents, teachers, students, and concerned citizens in local communities across the state to improve Massachusetts’ schools. From Boston to Worcester to Springfield and beyond, our work to reform schools is genuinely impacting students everyday in the classroom.
Great teachers generate brighter futures for students in Massachusetts. In fact, the quality of a child’s teacher is the most significant in-school factor to a child’s success. To ensure every child has access to quality education and improve public schools in Massachusetts, we must first ensure that every teacher is in the classroom based not solely on their seniority, but on their ability to generate better student outcomes.
Massachusetts has some of the best schools in the nation – but not every child has access to a quality education in Massachusetts. Achievement gaps between low-income and high-income students remain extremely wide. Stand for Children is committed to narrowing these gaps to improve public schools for every child, regardless of their race, socioeconomic status, or zip code.
Stand for Children is committed to protecting education funding in Massachusetts by preventing further cuts to essential school services, encouraging efficiencies and cost-savings strategies, and developing equitable and sustainable long-term funding solutions for our schools. Sufficient funding is critical to improve public schools and ensure every child has access to quality education in Massachusetts.
Our power as a child advocacy organization in Massachusetts is rooted in citizens who raise their voices to improve public schools.
