We believe all children deserve an equal opportunity to succeed in life. Education is the key that unlocks the door to success. Massachusetts leads the nation in education, yet while we have some of the best public schools in the country, too many of our schools are still struggling. This problem is most pronounced in our urban communities where there is a high concentration of underperforming public schools. Students of color and those from families with limited means are disproportionately affected.
Our mission is to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, graduate from high school prepared for, and with access to, college or career training. To make that happen, we:
- Educate and empower parents, teachers, and community members to demand excellent public schools.
- Advocate for effective local, state, and national education policies and investments.
- Ensure the policies and funding we advocate for reach classrooms and help students.
- Elect courageous leaders who will stand up for our priorities.
Since opening our doors in 2003, members from more than 100 communities across the Commonwealth have advocated for change that benefits more than 1.3 million children in Massachusetts. We are dedicated to ensuring that every child attending school in the Commonwealth has access to a great teacher and an effective classroom. See what we do to accomplish education advocacy from the classroom to the Capitol.
Access to a quality public education is a basic human right – one we are dedicated to protecting.
