Jefferson Parish District 1 - Mark Morgan

Mark Morgan first ran for and won his seat on the Jefferson Parish School Board in 2004 and is the current President of the Jefferson Parish School Board. Mr. Morgan is particularly proud of the work he was able to support in rebuilding the Jefferson Parish School System after Hurricane Katrina and the growth since that time of the school system’s performance.

As a father of three, active community volunteer, and accomplished lawyer, Mr. Morgan is strongly committed to taking an active role in the continued improvement of Jefferson Parish Schools, so that every child has access to a high-quality education.

“Mark Morgan has been a strong leader for the Jefferson Parish School System. His emphasis on high-quality leadership for our parish makes him the right choice for district one.” Jeff Southerland, Endorsement Committee Member.

Mr. Morgan expressed his support for holding the superintendent accountable for the successes of schools in Jefferson Parish and noted his efforts to ensure the current superintendent was given the autonomy to lead change for improved schools and build his team for success.
