Eric Brown, a Louisiana native, was born and raised in the heart of the state’s capital, Baton Rouge, to Hezekiah and Shirley Brown. He has five beautiful children that he adores and cherishes. Eric graduated from Istrouma High School in 1988. Later, he attended Southern University, where he studied Criminal Justice and Psychology. His hobbies consist of reading novels, playing basketball, and fishing.
Eric is no stranger to the public service, having spent 23 years as an entrepreneur, which taught him the importance of self-motivation and empowerment. Eric is currently serving the community by volunteering, in his spare time, as a basketball coach for Mentorship Academy and has, also, in previous years, serviced a variety schools in the Nawaganti District. Eric is passionate about ensuring that all children are provided with a high quality education and the numerous of possibilities that can come from it. Eric has helped implement an after school tutoring program for athletes for EBR schools and is proud to be a part of the STAND team, where he plans on continuing to implement new ideas to better service the community.
