As professionals in our field, it’s important we have a say about the resources and supports needed in the classroom to best serve our students.
As educators – we have a set of rights outlined in the Louisiana Teacher Bill of Rights.
We as a state have raised standards, raised the bar on accountability, and demanded more from educators and students with the aim of preparing our children for college or career. We as educators have consistently risen to the challenge – often without the supports and resources needed to keep pace with increasing demands.
We know that there are more supports and resources. I want to hear from you. What resources do you need in your classroom to be the best teacher you can be? Let’s have a conversation about how we can #ElevateEducators and the entire teaching profession together.
This is not meant to be a complaint but rather a recognition of the thousands of educators across the state who are working hard in the classroom to help our students meet and exceed high but attainable expectations.
There are small but very significant changes to policies already in place that we as educators can advocate for.
