The education of every student in East Baton Rouge Parish is being put in danger because of recent actions by the school board and district staff that would move high performing students to low performing schools, for the benefit of the schools, not the students. Stand parents have a different idea: give incentives to highly effective teachers and leaders to serve in low performing schools.

With over 108,000 children under the age of 18 in Baton Rouge on track to attend schools in the East Baton Rouge Parish, now is the time for parents, educators, and community member to take action.

While public schools in New Orleans have vastly improved since Hurricane Katrina, only 23% of our high school graduates were prepared for college. In order for New Orleans to reach its full potential, we must advance the work of providing a high quality education for our children.
