If you live within the Indianapolis Public Schools district, you’ll have an opportunity to vote for IPS board members this November. It’s so important you get out and vote. Our babies are counting on you to choose candidates that will listen to parents and fight for equity.

Four seats that will shape the educational future of IPS students like mine are up for grabs.

The IPS board is made up of seven seats. Five of those seven are elected within specific districts (1-5) and two seats are “at-large,” meaning these positions are elected to serve the entire district, rather than one part.  Voters in Districts 1, 2 and 4 will have an opportunity to vote for their representative and everyone in district boundaries will be able to vote for the at-large seat.

For more information, including locating which district you live in, visit the IPS website.

The deadline to register to vote is October 5. You can register or check your registration status here. For more updates, check on our blog regularly as we’ll be sharing candidate information soon.
