Please welcome Carolina Figueroa, our new bilingual Parent Organizer, to the Stand for Children Indiana team. She’s a Peruvian native with a Hoosier upbringing and mother of two boys. Carolina knows that a high-quality education with amazing teachers is crucial for her kids to live out their dreams. She tries her hardest to support them and their dreams but knows she wouldn’t be able to do so without the partnership of her son’s teachers.
“It takes a village to raise a child and I believe Stand for Children really helps create that village for the children that are most vulnerable,” she said. “I am passionate about being a part of this movement.”
When Figueroa sees a community that has been through rough times work together to make sure their kids have a better future, she is at her happiest. She believes parents should never give up, no matter how hard life gets.
“There are many barriers that arise while raising kids, especially in our challenged neighborhoods,” she said. “Yet, they can be that success story along with their kids. I want to help be that difference.”
Outside of work Figueroa is an enthusiastic soccer mom. Nothing brings her more joy than watching her kids follow their passions. Outside of loving to travel and spending time with family, Figueroa welds art projects, rollerblades and ice skates for fun.
