Support parents like me

I'm a mom of two and I got involved with Stand for Children Indiana because I wanted to make sure my kids' school experience was the best it could be. As I started learning more about Indianapolis Public Schools, I noticed some concerning differences between the test scores and discipline rates of Black and Brown students compared to white students and inequities between how schools are funded.

For the sake of my kids, I wanted to see things change — so  I spoke up at several IPS board meetings and asked IPS leaders to share the referendum funding with all school types. In November, they voted to share the funds.

I'll admit — speaking up can be intimidating, but I will do anything to give my children a brighter future, and it was encouraging to know Stand was right there, having my back.

When you donate to Stand Indiana, you support parents in your community — parents just like me — who are being the best advocates they can be for their kids. Please consider making a gift today to empower more IPS families.

And if you can't give today, I completely understand! But you can still show your support for IPS families by sharing the message below on your social media. Just copy and paste this:

Stand for Children Indiana empowers families to take the lead in their kids' education so that every child can reach their fullest potential. Support Stand families at stand.org/indiana/donate.

I'm so proud of what Stand Indiana families accomplished this year, but there's more work to do in 2022! Please join us as we keep pushing forward.
