Mark your calendars for the next Stand University for Parents (Stand UP) graduation! The latest class will graduate on Wednesday, December 16, at 5:30 p.m. We're excited to announce that we have a new graduation venue, the Indianapolis Central Library.
These ceremonies are incredibly moving. Parents share what they’ve learned about advocating for their children’s education and many walk across a stage to receive a certificate for the first time in their lives. Each graduation ceremony is a little different, but they all include powerful moments and some laughs.
We are on pace to have a record graduating class. You may recall that this is the first time Stand for Children Leadership Center Indiana’s family engagement program has been offered in four Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) in one semester. We've had extremely large class sizes at Wendell Phillips Elementary # 63, Elder Diggs Elementary # 42, Louis B. Russell, Jr. Elementary # 48 and Stephen Foster Elementary # 67.
Stand UP is a six-week, research-based family engagement program that focuses on action steps parents can take immediately to get more involved in their children’s academics and ensure their kids are on track to college or career readiness.
Please let us know if you can attend by emailing INinfo@stand.org or calling 317-759-2639. We'd love to see you there!
