Taylor attended the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Philosophy with a minor in Islamic World Studies. To further support educators, Taylor became a founding board member for The Collective Leadership in Tulsa to cultivate alumni of color for leadership development, community and network building, and collective action to support the community.

Taylor’s dedication to educational equity and leadership development led her to return home to continue her work in education as a Regional Strategy Team member for Leadership for Educational Equity to establish the policy/advocacy agenda and focus of the team’s vision. She remains committed to ensuring the students in Illinois receive the tools necessary to be productive members of their communities.

As Community Organizer and Policy Analyst, Taylor fights for systemic change by designing and delivering curricula and programs to strengthen partnerships among parents-teachers-students as well as research and provide support on district and state policy matters.
