Elect Education Champions

Stand for Children supports candidates committed to fighting for an equitable public education system which gives all students a fair chance to succeed. We look for education champions of integrity who are bold, substantive, and pragmatic. We also oppose candidates who stand in the way of educational equity for children.

In Illinois, this work is conducted through two bipartisan entities, Stand for Children IL PAC and Stand for Children IL IEC.

Each election season, Stand for Children IL PAC endorses candidates in state and local races. Our endorsement process reviews the candidate’s responses to our questionnaire, includes personal interviews by Stand staff and members, and assesses candidate viability. If the candidate has held elected office before, we look at their voting record and demonstrated ability to reach across the aisle. Our support ranges from direct contributions to significant coordinated and independent field, mail, digital, polling, and strategic support.

State and local candidates for offices playing a significant role in educational policy may check back periodically for updates or email ILinfo@stand.org with your questions.
