Welcome back and happy new year! I hope this finds you and your family safe and healthy and ready to tackle the promise and potential of 2021. After the immense challenges of 2020, I know I am not alone in hoping this year offers lots of potential with a fresh start.
Part of that fresh start is the reopening of public school buildings here in Chicago. On January 11, some of CPS’s youngest students and special education learners will return to school in-person as part of the district’s reopening plan.
One voice that must be at the center of these discussions is that of parents. What do parents think about reopening plans, and what will it take for them to feel comfortable to send their children back to school? These are just a few of the questions we have in our Chicago Parent Survey, and if you’re a parent like me I hope you will take a minute to share your thoughts on this important topic.
Parents and their children are vital to the success of Chicago’s return to in-person learning. With so much at stake for families and students’ futures, we want to hear your honest opinions about plans to reopen schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I know things are busy as we all return to reality after the holidays, but your voice is important, so please take a minute today to complete our parent survey.
