Jessica advocates at the state capitol for fair school funding and equitable education policies.

Everyone is busy with the end of summer and the first days of school, so I’ll make this quick.

You and thousands of your fellow Illinoisans proved yourselves as strong advocates for children this past year. It paid off! The State budget increased funds to the new funding formula, early childhood education, and even Career and Technical Education, which had not seen a funding boost in well over a decade.

It’s time to take your advocacy to the next level, especially if you have ever taught or taken a dual credit course.

Apply to be a 2019-20 Stand Policy Fellow today.

For the past two years, Stand Policy Fellows have brought together engaged parents, community leaders, and educators from up and down the state to get in the weeds on policy details and help solve for issues as diverse as school quality, accountability, and high school success. Their work has informed Stand’s advocacy positions and spawned policy reports.

Sound interesting? Join us for the 2019-20 class of Policy Fellows! Our team will get you up to speed on the issues and help build your leadership skills.

This group of passionate people will play a role in shaping Stand’s advocacy in the vital area of dual credit access and quality. Participants will grow their networks, learn from experts, communicate regularly with Stand’s policy team, and meet with elected officials. Through thoughtful discussions your collective voice will inform Stand’s work on a report centered on dual credit access and quality.

Take a look at the application and I hope you will apply!
