This week, Aimee and Scott shared why they stand for Golden Apple and teachers building strong relationships with their students’ families. In a year unlike anything we’ve experienced, it feels so good to be inspired by the amazing work still happening in our communities. I hope you take time to learn these stories and, if you can, support them with a donation.
Those stories and today’s note are part of our annual Week of Gratitude, where we highlight organizations and stories we appreciate both personally and professionally.
As we close out this series and look ahead to Thanksgiving Day, I would like to share my gratitude to the parents and educators who make Stand what it is today. Our parent and educator leaders, including Keith, Kim, Albert, Nastassia, Sharon, Caitlin, Desirae, and Yazmin. Our recently wrapped class of Policy Fellows who created an amazing dual credit report which will help us advocate more effectively for strong State and district policies on this vital issue. All of them go above and beyond, each day, for Illinois kids and I am so grateful to know them and work with them.
I have sincere gratitude to the staff of Stand Illinois – Aimee, Jessica, Scott, and Tommorrow – and to the Stand alum and volunteers who continue to fight for educational equity.
The support from our donors, especially in such a difficult year as this, is truly humbling. Our partnerships remain strong and we so appreciate your support of our work for Illinois students.
Before thoughts linger to turkey and stuffing, please give one more thought to the stories we shared this week. If you are so moved, you can make a tax-deductible contribution to Stand here. Thank you so much for your support.
With hope for health, safety, and equity.
