Not Voting? Now That's Scary!

Not much scares me. Creepy clowns, heights, zombies – whatever it is, I’m not afraid.

Deep down, one thing that really does frighten me to my core is this: not voting.

When you stay home and forgo your right to vote, you silence your voice. You take yourself out of the equation. You limit your power to influence our society.

That really is scary.

Don’t get caught in a real-life horror show: Make a plan to vote for education champions today.

Here in Illinois, we have some truly scary situations on our hands: Only New Jersey loses more high school grads to out-of-state colleges. Our state’s counselor-to-student ratio is 1:664 – a far cry from the recommended ratio of 1:250.

But you can be one of the heroes in these scary stories by voting for candidates who prioritize education. Support candidates with integrity and pragmatism who will reach across the aisle to fight for an equitable education system that gives all Illinois kids a chance to succeed.

Don’t let any ghosts or ghouls stop you: Make a plan to vote now.
