You know what brings an important issue to life? A good story.
There are so many vivid, memorable stories that bring the issues in Stand’s recent Stop Illinois Brain Drain report to life. The stories illustrate the successes and challenges facing our state when it comes to creating more opportunities for high school students.
There are only so many stories you can fit into a report, but we know there are so many other stories all across our state that touch on similar themes of successes and challenges to overcome.
That’s where you come in.
Stand is calling for video submissions from students, parents, teachers, and community members with a story to tell. Our report tells the good, the bad, and the ugly about college and career readiness in Illinois, but we want to hear from you!
By December 10, tell us about a great program you want to showcase for your fellow Illinoisans. Or, tell us what’s missing that would help students be better prepared for their future in college or a meaningful career.
Two awards will be given: one “Showcase Storyteller” student will receive a $100 prize, and one entry profiling a “Showcase Program” will receive a $250 donation to your school district foundation or to a Donor’s Choose project of your choice.
There are impactful stories in every corner of Illinois, and we want to hear them. Illinois brain drain is a massive issue facing our state, so head over to the contest page and share your story today!
