Early voting has begun!


Given the crazy winter we’ve been having, who knows what the weather will look like on Election Day, March 18th. So why wait until then to vote in the Illinois Primary Election?

Today is the opening of early voting in Illinois.  What does early voting mean?  It means that you can vote whenever it’s convenient for you between March 3-15.

Just bring a photo ID and find your nearest voting location.  Here’s the list of early voting locations: 

Stand University for Parents Kick-off


Amazing introductory meeting at Rowe Elementary last night - nearly 60 parents shows up on a snowy night to hear about Stand University for Parents (Stand UP). This eight week experience, done in partnership with CPS schools, works with families to build a solid partnership with their child's teacher/school and create a learning environment that puts kids on the path to college.

SPRINGFIELD — Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn today called for spending more on early childhood education, increasing the minimum wage and requiring companies to provide at least two sick days for workers.

New Schools Expo


The New Schools EXPO was a huge success!  We were proud to co-sponsor such an amazing event on Saturday with nearly 5,000 people attending the 7th Annual New Schools Expo.  120 public charter schools and CPS programs were represented, with marching bands, step teams, all sorts of school spirit being showcased.
