With all of the crazy election buzz everywhere, it’s easy to get caught up in the national storylines and discussions. Debates, social media exchanges, and TV commercials. And it’s only February!

But, there is one kind of election buzz that has a huge impact in your local community, whether you know it or not. In just two weeks, the deadline will pass for you and likeminded Chicago community members to sign up for the Local School Council (LSC) elections.

Interested in learning more about the LSC process and how you can impact and influence your neighborhood school? Let us know!

I told you about my experience being on my neighborhood LSC. My colleague Aviva told you her LSC story. Now is your chance to write your own LSC story.

But time is running out to add your name to the ballot. The deadline to sign up for the LSC elections is only two weeks away – March 3. Act now before it’s too late!

One of the best ways to get the change at our local schools is to have a seat at the table, to be in the room where the big decisions happen. LSC members have a seat at the table; they’re in the room where those decisions happen.

Let us know as soon as you can about your interest in LSCs. The clock is ticking!
