With Chicago Public Schools students reporting for their first day of classes today, many parents are confronting the challenge of adjusting to a new school year. New classrooms, new teachers, new friends, and for some students, new schools. It’s a lot for a student to take in, and it’s a lot for their families to take in as well.

One way to keep the days from getting away from you is to maintain a steady morning routine. The Chicago Parent website lists a number of ways to create a stress-free morning before the entire family goes about its day:

1. Focus on you first

2. Stick to a schedule

3. Include your children in the process

4. Prepare the night before

5. Organization is key

6. Attitude is everything

These six tips can help make these back to school mornings for families a breeze.
