October 4 in Chicago
On Saturday, October 4, Stand for Children Illinois in collaboration with Univision will present “Parent Academy” – a Spanish-language program designed to raise awareness of the new academic standards for local schools and provide parents with the tools they need to ensure their child is prepared for college. The program will also include State Rep. Fred Crespo, Vice Chairperson of the House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee, and radio personality Dr. Isabel Gomez-Bassol.
Parent Academy is a free Spanish-language program designed to help parents guide their child's success. In collaboration with UNIVISION, Stand for Children Illinois will present this series of workshops to raise awareness of new academic standards being implemented by local schools and help parents ensure their child is prepared for college.
This event will include:
- Presentations on helping your child achieve new academic standards and ensuring your child is on a path to college success.
- A presentation by UNIVISION talk show host Dr. Isabel Gomez-Bassol
- Food and refreshments for participants
- Raffle prizes, including tablets and airline tickets
