Standing Up for All Illinois Children
Stand for Children’s mission is to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, graduate from high school prepared for, and with access to, a college education. To meet that goal, we work to engage and empower parents, elect champions for our cause, fight for smart policy, and engaging our supporters to take action on important issues. Learn more about our work here:
Every Child Reads is Stand’s family literacy program that combats summer slide by helping inspire children develop a love of reading and and increasing parent engagement.
Stand as One is our resilience and well-being initiative for parents of children living in under-resourced communities on the south side of Chicago.
Stand University for Parents (Stand UP) is an intensive and interactive program designed to help parents support their children’s academic performance by creating dynamic learning environments at home and partnering effectively with educators. It is, in brief, professional development for parents.
These campaigns are of great importance to our members and supporters. Learn more about the issues and take action today – your input, your voice, will make a difference for Illinois students.
We fight for smart, research-backed policy that will improve education outcomes for students, including smart funding, college and career readiness, quality schools for all students, and great educators in all classrooms.
