EMAIL IPS LEADERS FOR A MORE JUST AND EQUITABLE DISTRICT
A letter from the IPS parent commitee:
In March, we released our vision for a more just and equitable IPS to district leaders. Since then, we have gathered over 1,200 signatures from parents and community members who support our vision.
While we have seen some progress come from our efforts and appreciate the steps that are being taken by the district, we know there is still more work to be done.
- Not all schools received referendum funds and we believe all schools in the district should be funded equitably.
- There are schools in Indianapolis that prove all kids can achieve if they are given the right supports and we want those schools to be replicated.
- English language learning families still face a lot of obstacles in order to be engaged with their children’s learning and we want to see the equity policy updated to include language justice.
Our goal is to partner with IPS leaders and push them to continue the critical work needed to dramatically improve academic outcomes, especially for those furthest from opportunity. Your email to district leaders will help us continue to partner with them and push our work forward.
