Kate was raised in a family of educators and is the proud product of Colorado public schools and the University of Colorado, Boulder. After college, Kate moved to Washington, DC where she spent 12 years working in a variety of communications roles. She served as Deputy Press Secretary and Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, and went on to be a Strategic Communications Advisor at Holland & Knight LLP. Then, she spent nearly 4 years as the Director of Communications for the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO).
In June 2014, Kate returned home and joined the Stand for Children Colorado team as the Marketing and Communications Director. She works to promote Stand's work to ensure all children graduate from high school prepared for, and with access to, college.
Kate and her husband, Kevin live in Centennial with their two young children, and dog.
