Welcome to Week 2 of Women’s History Month and Happy International Women's Day!

International Women's Day is an opportunity for us to celebrate and honor the contributions and stories of women everywhere. Today, we are choosing to highlight those women who have given voice to a wide range of experiences, lives, and histories.

Whether they're writing about the Nigerian-Biafran War or racism in a dystopian society, these women authors have demonstrated their incredible skills as storytellers and commentators on our society. They are trailblazers who have used their gifts to share the resilience, struggles, losses, and triumphs of women all over the world and across time. We are featuring women authors on this special day for this very reason.

Grab your child and learn about some of the brilliant women who have given a voice to our generation by reading about them and then downloading our memory game! Directions to play are in the “Notes” section. Click “Slide Show” on the toolbar and select “From Beginning” to start.

Hopefully by the end, your child will be inspired to do some writing of their own. Take advantage of this momentum by encouraging them to answer one of the writing prompts on the last slide. You can also find more writing tips on our blog.

Happy learning & writing!
