As we at Stand Colorado often say: reading with your child is more than looking at words on a page – it should be a conversation!
One of the best ways to spark this conversation is by asking lots of questions throughout the book. Asking questions helps your child engage with the story, increases reading comprehension, and encourages creative thinking.
The next time you sit down to read with your child, try out one of our reading cubes! Each one is designed for either before, during, or after the book. Print, cut, and tape them together and ask your child to roll it as you read together. You can also print out a blank one and ask your child to come up with questions of their own!
