Our Stand Colorado team is thrilled to announce the promotion of Ivana M. Bejaran Rib to be State Organizing Director. Ivana has been a Parent Organizer working primarily in Southwest Denver for almost four years and was promoted after Danielle DeSantis, our former state organizing director, went to law school. Ivana has played a critical role in engaging parents in efforts to pass full-day kindergarten, update the school performance framework in Denver Public Schools, and prioritize language justice so that all parents have access to information about their children’s education in the language of their heart. In her new role she will oversee both our work in Denver Public Schools and the continued expansion of our statewide work.

Ivana says, “I am honored to take on this amazing opportunity to continue to fight alongside parents, guardians, and families for better access to high quality education and the resources they need to support their students at home and at school. I am here today because my parents not only prioritized my education, but I also had the support from teachers, school administrators, family members, and afterschool programs to provide a well-rounded education for my brother and me. They believed in us and our endless potential to follow our dreams and be who we want to be. I believe in the bright future of our students here in Colorado, I can especially identify with Latin@x students like myself. Now we just need to make sure all parents, guardians, and families have access to the resources they need to support their student's growth at home.”
