We believe that strong family-school partnerships are key to supporting student literacy growth and development. We’ve been hearing from families and teachers who have identified gaps and challenges in the tools and resources available for educators to share individual student literacy growth and performance information with families and we are eager to identify a better path forward.
Since early December, we’ve hosted listening sessions with over 35 parents and educators to learn about their experience communicating about students’ reading results. Participants have shared a variety of perspectives on what’s working about the ways teachers and schools are sharing literacy information and opportunities to provide more accessible, actionable information to support students.
We will be hosting more listening sessions in the new year as we continue to understand what’s happening in the field.
