School boards play a tremendous role in children's lives. They decide everything from funding priorities to hiring and evaluating the superintendent to the openings and closings of schools.

On Tuesday, November 5, it's your turn to decide who you want representing your family and community on the Denver Public Schools Board of Education. Stand parent members have endorsed three education champions they believe will prioritize the needs of students and families and work to ensure all children in the district receive the high-quality education they deserve.

Stand's Education Champions:

Stand's parents and community members are the backbone of our endorsement process. Our members see the problems and injustices that occur every day in our city's school system. Their perspectives and values inform their decisions in the endorsement process, which involves surveying and interviewing candidates directly. Every committee member carefully considered the candidates and what actions future school board members must take to ensure our school district truly serves all of its students.

While Denver Public Schools has made progress in moving toward educational equity, more work still needs to be done. These three education champions are focused on closing the literacy gap, listening to and supporting teachers and families, and ensuring Denver students have access to the resources they need to graduate high school prepared for college or a career.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, but you should already have your ballot. Please help us elect education champions by filling in your ballot and returning as soon as possible.
