About Pete Lee
Representative Pete Lee is a concerned citizen with a passion for his community and a desire for public service. Having lived the last 33 years in the community and worked for hundreds of clients serving a wide variety of people and organizations, Pete has come to know the needs, hopes, difficulties, and aspirations of our citizens. He attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University where he received a bachelor’s in English and politics and government. He then went on to receive a JD and the Bancroft Whitney Award for Civil Procedure at the University of Akron Law School. Pete was working in personnel at the Holly Sugar Corporation, a Fortune-500 company, when he was admitted to the Colorado bar. He practiced law for 25 years, first with a firm and later as a solo practitioner. At various times during his career he also worked as a real estate agent, a college instructor, and a small business owner.
Pete has volunteered for many local community based organizations. Significant among them are service on the board of Pikes Peak Mental Health, the Manitou and Pikes Peak Restorative Justice Councils, and the Youth Transformation Center. Some of his most rewarding experiences were as a board member and board chair for Workout, Ltd., a local juvenile justice program. Pete and his wife, Lynn, have lived in Colorado Springs for over 34 years where they raised three children, Amanda (29), Rob (18), and Brian (17).
