About Representative Ken Summers
As a state native, Representative Ken Summers says it’s a privilege to live in Colorado.
During his professional career, Representative Summers has contributed to communities throughout the state where he resided, including local school boards, nonprofit organization boards, the Arapahoe Credit Union, among many others.
Representative Summers received his undergraduate degree in business education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1976. Following graduation he served as a teacher and coach at Englewood High School and served as a local church pastor for 28 years, 19 of those years in Jefferson County.
In 2005, Representative Summers went back to school and earned a master’s of nonprofit management degree from Regis University.
Outside of the legislature, Representative Summers serves as the executive director of Teen Challenge of the Rocky Mountains a faith-based drug and alcohol recovery program.
Representative Summers is married to Debbie, a registered nurse specializing in hospice care. They have been married for 35 years and have two children, Christian and Stephanie, and five grandchildren.
