Reading Challenge

Why is reading important? Because if a child doesn’t know how to read by 4th grade, he or she is 4 times more likely to drop out of high school. The best gift for our children is that they graduate from high school ready to go to a university.

Plus, this reading challenge is fun. Here are the steps.

  1. Your child can read their favorite types of books or use our digital library (sponsored by Unite for Literacy insert link here), as long as they read for at least 20 minutes a day during their break.
  2. Complete the reading log.
  3. You can email the completed log to gmonsalvo@stand.org
  4. You will win a smencil (it’s a smelly pencil!) and get a certificate!

Don’t miss out on this fun opportunity! Download the log here.
