New Spanish Language Education Website Available for Parents

Focused on new standards, understanding AzMERIT scores, and resources to help children learn

PHOENIX (JANUARY 28) – Stand for Children Arizona today launched a Spanish language version of its website www.doyourhomeworkarizona.org. Available at www.haztutareaaz.org parents can utilize informative and academic tools to help them understand the new Arizona academic standards and the AzMERIT test scores.

DoYourHomeworkArizona.org is a free resource created by Stand for Children Arizona. It aims to help parents better understand the homework and schoolwork their students are completing as part of Arizona’s new academic standards in math and English in grades K-8th. Haztutareaaz.org will include the same content on testing and academic standards as www.doyourhomeworkarizona.org, including what children are expected to know in each grade and recommended activities to strengthen the learning process at home.

“We’re thrilled to open this resource to more kids and parents across the state,” said Rebecca Gau, executive director of Stand for Children Arizona. “The tools we’ve provided on DoYourHomeworkArizona.org are easy to navigate and include sample problems and activities. These resources provide parents the information they need to help their kids navigate the changing academic standards in Arizona, and ultimately help them to succeed.”

For more information on Arizona’s new academic standards, visit http://stand.org/az/accrs.

Website walk-throughs are available in both English and Spanish.
