Janna Day
Political savvy coupled with almost two decades of legal experience makes Janna Day a valuable asset to her clients at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and the legal profession. When legal, government and public matters intersect, Ms. Day has the skills, knowledge and finesse to handle those issues.
Ms. Day serves as the managing partner of Brownstein’s Phoenix office. In this role she guides the strategic direction of the firm’s growth in Arizona and helps clients successfully navigate a myriad of legal and legislative issues. Her work concentrates in the areas of tax, health care, public records access, mining and general business issues.
Prior to joining Brownstein, Ms. Day was a Director at Fennemore Craig, in their Phoenix office. She obtained her undergraduate and Law degrees from Bringham Young University.
George L. Evans, P.E., R.L.S.
Mr. Evans, a native Arizonan, was President and Co-Founder of the Consulting Engineering Firm of Evans, Kuhn & Associates, Inc. Since its inception in 1977, the firm grew in size and complexity to be one of the premier consulting engineering firms in Arizona.
Mr. Evans provided hands-on leadership of the firm's business activities as well as being an involved community role model for younger people. He was one of the founding members of the ASCE Western Region Younger Member Forum for recent college graduates whose membership has grown into the thousands. Mr. Evans is frequently asked to speak to pupils in Arizona's education system. He has been recognized as Outstanding Engineer twice by the Black Engineers and Scientists of Arizona, has received the Order of the Engineer award from NSPE, and the NAACP Image Award.
Scott Henderson
Scott Henderson is currently a Partner at Polsinelly Shughart PC where he specializes in real estate and business litigation. He is a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership and The Thunderbirds, an organization contributes millions of dollars to Phoenix charities every year. He received his Law degree from Indiana University Bloomington, and a degree in Economics and English Composition from DePauw University. In 2005, Scott was recognized by his peers and received the “Best of the Bar” award through the Phoenix Business Journal.
Jim Rice, PH.D.
Dr.Jim Rice served the Alhambra Elementary School District for 39 years before retiring in 2010 as superintendent. Alhambra School District is a culturally diverse district serving more than 14,000 students in preschool through eighth grades.
Dr.Rice has spent his entire educational career in the Alhambra District. He served as teacher, principal, assistant superintendent for academic services, and assistant superintendent for human resources. Not only did Jim work in Alhambra for 39 years, he is also is a former student, being promoted from eighth grade at Andalucia School. He has received numerous awards for his time at Alhambra, including being recognized as the Superintendent of the Year in 2007.
He received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Grand Canyon College, and his Masters and Doctorate Degrees from Arizona State University respectively.
Currently, Dr.Rice is serving his as Senior Program Administrator for the Principal Initiative with the Rodel Charitable Foundation in Scottsdale, AZ.
Vince Roig
Vince Roig serves as Founding Chairman of the Board of Helios Education Foundation. Prior to forming the Foundation, Vince was the Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Southwest Student Services Corporation and its affiliates for over 20 years. Southwest was a full service provider of student loan products and services to students, families and schools in Arizona, Florida and nationally.
Mr. Roig received his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Athens College and his Master of Science in Secondary Education from Richmond College of the City University of New York. He serves or has served on the boards of numerous organizations, including Teach for America National, Arizona College Scholarship Foundation, Chair; Greater Phoenix Leadership, Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board, Stand for Children Advisory Committee, Take Stock in Children, Valley of the Sun United Way and the Phoenix Art Museum.
